Permaculture is a design philosophy and approach to sustainable living that integrates the principles of ecology, agriculture, and community development. It focuses on creating systems that are self-sufficient regenerative, and harmonious with nature. The rhe term comes from “permanent agriculture” or “permanent culture”, emphasizing long-term sustainability. Permaculture is guided by three Ethical Principles:
Earth Care: Protect and nurture earth therefore ensuring the health of ecosystems and biodiversity.
People Care: Support the well-being of individuals and communities.
Fair Share: Redistribute surplus resources to promote equity and ensure sustainability. Permaculture is a lot more than just a way to grow food. It’s a way to live life, design and manage human settlements, to interact with the world around us and find balance in all sorts of aspects of our existence.
Course Overview
This 6-day program will give you a full overview of what it means to design, grow and develop in alignment with nature. This can be relevant for:
A building, housing or garden project you’re working on
A farm, or farm stay
General familiarity with planting, and where to begin
A beautifully self-sufficient home that you want to create for yourself and/or family
Developing a city community or garden in your area of living
Self-development and life change through community, planting and art
You will be learning the basics of how to start a garden, how to integrate animals, divide/design your piece of land, project or future home into different zones and much more.
Krisna Waworuntu
the Teachers
Krisna Putra Waworuntu is a dedicated advocate for sustainable farming and permaculture. Growing up in a family immersed in a farming environment, Krisna developed a deep appreciation for the natural world and a passion for regenerative agriculture. Since 2012, he has been actively involved in his father's permaculture farming system at Bumi Langit, Yogyakarta.
Driven to deepen his knowledge and understanding of permaculture, Krisna embarked on a transformative journey. In 2012, he attended a Permaculture Design Course (PDC) led by Robyn Francis, immersing himself in the principles and techniques of sustainable farming. Seeking to expand his horizons further, he ventured to the Dead Sea valley in the Jordanian desert in 2015 to participate in an internship program for the greening the desert project by Geoff Lawton.
Krisna's diverse experiences have shaped his expertise in permaculture and enabled him to make tangible contributions to the field. He initiated Permablitz activities in Yogyakarta and Bali, fostering community engagement and collaboration in implementing sustainable farming practices. At Bumi Langit Farm, he played a vital role in making improvements and advancing the permaculture system.
Recognized as an accomplished educator, Krisna has had the privilege of teaching the International Permaculture Design Course alongside Australian instructor and permaculture practitioner, John Champagne. He has shared his knowledge and expertise with locals across Indonesia, guiding them in the integration of sustainable farming practices such as permaculture, syntropic farming, and biodynamics. Krisna's approach is rooted in honoring the diverse tropical culture and local wisdom, emphasizing the importance of harmonizing traditional practices with innovative techniques.
Djuca Terenzi
Born and raised in Bali, Djuca Terenzi has been a driving force behind the regenerative farming movement on the island for the past decade. He has consulted, designed, and implemented various projects, including waste management for festivals in Sulawesi, permaculture gardens in Central Java, and transforming unused hilly lands into regenerative gardens with young Balinese farmers. Djuca has consulted and help design many permaculture projects including:

where will The course be held?
This course will be held at the beautiful Jiwa Garden near Canggu , Bali.
Jiwa Community Garden & Cafe is a place to gather, garden and grow. The space has been built around community, offers rental garden plots rental, hosts music nights, organic markets, tours, workshops and courses for adults and children around growing one’s own food, permaculture, composting, garden cafes and other topics. The spacious bamboo shala in the heart of the garden is used for events and gatherings. Jiwa is also home to the composting facility, turning food and garden waste of surrounding businesses and households into fertile new soil. Jiwa Garden also helps clients with Permaculture Landscaping Consultation, Design and Implementation.
Course General Information
Gather, Garden & Grow: A Foundational Permaculture Course held on an innovative green community space, Jiwa Garden. This is a rare in-person permaculture course taught by Bumi Langit Farm’s own Krisna Waworuntu & Jiwa’s Djuca Terenzi. Our days will start from 8:30 am and end at 5 pm with the exception of Day 1 (2 pm - 5 pm) and Day 6 (8:30 - 2 pm).
Dates:
The course will be held on two different dates July 11 - July 16 and September 19 - 24, 2025.
payment:
The course tuition is USD 1250 per person.
For KITAS holders and couples, tuition is USD 1100 per person.
Indonesian Citizens tuition is IDR 10,000,000.
Early bird is applicable only for regular ticket price and is available through May 15th for the July date and July 15th for the September dates at USD 1100 per person.
Course tuition includes daily lunch and transportation to and from outing on offsite visit day. Water, ginger tea station and some small snacks around the day will be included complimentary.

Lodging
Note that accomodation is not included in the course tuition. We have planted the course in central Canggu, Bali to give you access to different types of lodging within a walking distance. You’re not on your own though! Once you sign up, you’ll be added on a Whatsapp group where we will be sending you options and also facilitating group bookings should anyone like to share a villa, hotel room etc.
Budget for surrounding hotels, guesthouses and hostels range from USD 15 per night to USD60 per night. Booking.com is a good option to find a place around Jiwa Garden.

In order to secure your place on this course, please fill out form below. Once submitted, it will be reviewed within 24 hours. You will then be prompted to make payment to the bank/Paypal details that will be shared with you via e-mail or WhatsApp. In order to secure your place, a deposit of USD 600 is due upon sign up. For Indonesian citizens, deposit is IDR 5000,000. Remaining full amount to be paid by May 30th, 2025 for the July course and July 30th, 2025 for the September course.

In case of a force majeure cancellation, payment can then be used as credit towards any All The Good Things experience in Bali within the next 12 months from the payment date.

This course that is meant to give love back to planet earth, our bodies and create community, we also love this island so much that we want to have tourism truly be a driving force for all the good things. In addition to contributing to helping one of the very few only open green spaces in central Canggu/Pererenan, Bali, we are also supporting local talent and staff with the intention of inspiring earth love all over the planet through individual residences or community projects planting. USD25 per participant will go towards a non-profit cause that will help children, youth talent or locally-grown sustainable efforts.

Breakfast (not included but places will be suggested):
We will be sharing a list of places where you can have breakfast if it’s not already offered in your place of lodging. However, most accommodations offer included breakfast.
Daily lunch (included):
You’ll be treated to a mostly plant-based delicatessen buffet with beautiful juices for lunch daily. We’ll attend to your allergies and sensitivities so please make sure you list them on the form.
Dinner (Evening 1 and Evening 5 only are included):
Beautiful dinner buffet for Day 1 and Day 5 are included so that we can get to know each other more and then send off one another as a community on the last evening.
During personal time, you can explore some of the food options in Amed. A meal can be anywhere from USD 3 – USD 5 for breakfast to USD 3.5 to USD 7 for dinner. It really depends on the the type of cuisine or what you usually go for in terms of meals. We will be sharing many restaurants names with you so you can also check their menus in advance.
*** We will have a drinking water station, other herbal teas and snacks at the shala.
TRansportation
Another reason as to why we love central Pererenan is that transportation is super easy and affordable to restaurants or lodging within the garden’s area. We will also have plenty of driver’s contacts should you need one. We suggest that you download the GoJek app prior to arriving.
