5 ways to get over jetlag in bali
Why Bali? Not only because it is awesome and you can’t go a lifetime without visiting it, but also since a large number of travels from Europe, Americas and actually sometimes find themselves have to somehow jolt themselves into a 6 to 14 hour-difference in their body sleeping schedule.
For the ones trying to keep themselves up, this is not for you. For the others who need to get themselves into sleep, this is.
Of course, you’ve always got the hardcore sleeping pills option but these tips are for the people who don’t want to feel the chemical lethargic feel, addiction or the inevitable crash that come with those. But if the pill is for you, then you’ve got this.
So here are the ways that have helped me go from roaring to snoring.
Yes, because you don’t want to say hi to when I am running on no sleep (ehemm, ever):
- Force yourself to wake up at 6 or 7 am no matter how tired or how little sleep you got. Yes, this is for the warriors. For the ones who just go cold turkey on things. Your body will get sleepy and tired by the end of the day.
- Work out and get your body sweating. A steam or sauna recovery is also ideal after.
- Stay away from the phone or laptop at least 30 minutes before you get to bed. Let Netflix chill for a bit and go easy on the phone scrolling (even in night mode). Choose dimmed room lighting and a (boring) book instead.
- Meditate 20 minutes before bed and/or let yourself breathe slowly in deep exhales and inhales into relaxation. When in Bali, right?
Alright now for the big guns…
- Melatonin is a great, great supplement to take before bed. It’ll help you feel relaxed without the chemical kick of sleeping pill.
- 5 HTP is also an awesome supplement that can help assist your body into going.
- A glass of red wine never hurt anyone. Just sayin’. Not a bottle. Repeat. Not a bottle.
Always check your allergies and see what your body favors. It’ll tell you.
That’s another great thing about this island, it forces you to listen if you are ready to hear. So why not make your connection to your body start the conversation from the moment you arrive. Jetlag can last up to 10 days so be gentle with yourself.
Be clear, be confident and don’t overthink it. The beauty of your story is that it’s going to continue to evolve and your site can evolve with it. Your goal should be to make it feel right for right now. Later will take care of itself. It always does.
It all begins with an idea. Maybe you want to launch a business. Maybe you want to turn a hobby into something more. Or maybe you have a creative project to share with the world. Whatever it is, the way you tell your story online can make all the difference.
